Hi everyone, Richard Rost from Computer Learning Zone here. I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of the veterans out there. Your service, sacrifice, and dedication deserve our deepest respect and gratitude.
Now, some of you might be wondering why Veterans Day is on a Tuesday this year instead of giving us a three-day weekend. The reason is that Veterans Day always falls on November 11. That date marks the anniversary of the armistice that ended the fighting in World War I. It went into effect at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month back in 1918. Originally it was called Armistice Day, but in 1954 it was renamed Veterans Day to honor veterans of all wars.
And while we're talking about honoring veterans, I'm adding something new to the Computer Learning Zone website. If you are an active-duty or retired U.S. military veteran, I'd like to add a special badge to your account so you can proudly display that you're a veteran. Just send me an email or drop me a line, and I'll make sure it gets added. It's my small way of saying thank you for your service.
And finally, to all the men and women who have worn the uniform, past and present, thank you for standing guard over the freedoms we often take for granted. Your courage, discipline, and sacrifice remind us that liberty comes at a cost. May we never forget that debt, and may we honor it not just today, but every day.
